Our next public program is on Tuesday, March 23, at the Grange Insurance Audubon Center. Please join Paul Rodewald and Matthew Shumar for their presentation Ohio Breeding Bird Atlas II: Progress and Future Plans.
The second Ohio Breeding Bird Atlas (OBBA II) began in spring 2006, some 25 years after the start of the first Ohio Breeding Bird Atlas. OBBA II goals are to determine the distribution of Ohio's breeding birds, evaluate changes in breeding bird distributions over the last 25 years, estimate statewide abundances of breeding birds, provide new information on occurrence of Ohio's endangered and threatened birds, and foster learning and interaction among bird enthusiasts and heighten public awareness of birds.
Tonight's presentation will feature new information on changes in the distributions of Ohio breeding birds occurring over the last 25 years and other preliminary findings. You also will learn how you can contribute through field involvement individually and with organizations such as Columbus Audubon. We will look at volunteer involvement for the final two years of the project, 2010 and 2011.
Please join us anytime after 7:00 to chat with friends and enjoy complimentary coffee, juice and cookies before the presentation.
