Deer Haven Clark/Bader Bird Sanctuary Open

Fall is arriving, and there's a new place to watch for birds - both those that stay in central Ohio year round and those that are just passing through.Preservation Parks of Delaware County is excited to announce the opening of our newest park, Deer Haven Preserve! Located at 4183 Liberty Road, this 97-acre park and bird sanctuary is just minutes north of Powell.

The land for the park was a generous gift from Phyllis A. Havener, donated in 2006. A monetary gift from John W. Bader Jr., in memory of his wife, Amy Clark/Bader, is helping pay for the bird sanctuary and a nature center.

The new Grange Insurance Audubon Center Web site is up and running! Check it out to find general information about the Center, read a report on the April 22 groundbreaking ceremony, and the latest updates on Center programs and construction news for the Center building and grounds as we build toward the opening of the Center in May, 2009.

Now is the perfect time to become a founding member of the Center, purchase commemorative pavers, or make another donation. You can do all that and more at the GIAC Web site.
