A new film, Understory: A Journey Through the Tongass, takes us deep into Alaska’s Tongass National Forest. The film is available on YouTube and on Vimeo.
The film’s release comes at a pivotal moment: Now through January 24 the U.S. Forest Service is accepting public comments on a ruling that would reinstate protections for the Tongass, which stores more than 40% of carbon across our nation’s forest system.
