Columbus Audubon board member and Education Chair Susan Setterlin presented the Song Sparrow Award to Johann Cozart:
I am really excited to present the Song Sparrow award to a tireless member of Columbus Audubon who has, over the last few years, given too many to volunteer hours to count. This person asks before you need them “what can they do to help?” That does not happen too often! This person’s “can-do” attitude makes even the most challenging of jobs fun. Laughter is this person’s first, middle, and last name! I can’t tell you how many times we’ve laughed until we cried during our jaunts around town in the name of Audubon!
Here are just a few of the job titles Johann has held in this organization – many that may go unnoticed by the membership:
- Sorter & Organizer
- Cheerleader
- Navigator
- Housekeeper
- Teacher
- Sewer
- Comic relief
- Good listener
- Mover
- Darn good cook and willing to share her creations
This much-deserved award goes to a hardworking CA member and a fine friend – Johann Cozart.
Sadly, Johann Cozart passed away far too early in 2012. You can read our memorial article here.
