Several Columbus area photographers have contributed many images for the Columbus Audubon Web site. Please join us in thanking them for making the site look great!
Earl Harrison grew up in New Jersey and started birding with the Trenton Naturalists Club in 1961 (which he could not join because he was too young; no New Jersey Young Birders at the time!). He is a life member and fellow of the Delaware Valley Ornithological Club (DVOC), one of the oldest birding organizations in the country. After joining DVOC in 1985, he started photographing birds, initially just to record sightings of rarities. Shortly after, he started volunteering with project VIREO (Visual Resources in Ornithology) at the Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia and selecting and duplicating bird photos from VIREO’s large collection for their clients. That was it; bird photography became a passion.
Earl is a member of Columbus Audubon and the Ohio Ornithological Society. He lives in Columbus and is on the faculty of The Ohio State University. Some of his bird photos can be seen at www.pbase.com/earlharrison.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column]
