Albatross and petrels are beautiful, even majestic birds — but they need our help. They live on the open oceans, and too often they are caught on commercial fishing lines and drowned. The good news is that there are proven measures that help prevent these drownings. And there is an international agreement to protect these birds. The bad news is that the U.S. has not yet signed on.

Legislation has been introduced in Congress that enables the U.S. to join this treaty. Please ask your U.S. Representative to support this legislation. It’s easy: just go to the Audubon Action page, click a few buttons, and you’re done. Thanks for your help!
