Birdathon 2017 Report: Rawnderosa Hawk-eyes

Downy Woodpecker (female) - Photo Earl Harrison

The Rawnderosa Hawk-eyes had an enjoyable day birding on Saturday May 13th at the Rawn property in Lancaster. 30 of our anticipated 40 bird species were seen and/or heard with the highlight of hearing the Pileated Woodpecker. The Downy, Hairy and Red-bellied woodpeckers also made appearances. The Rose-breasted Grosbeak was a first-of-the-season siting. We are looking forward to our Columbus Audubon Birdathon “Day in May” in 2018!
