Columbus Audubon was excited last fall to learn that we received funding from the Ohio EPA for restoration work at Calamus Swamp! This funding will enable us to control the spread of invasive plant species that threaten the native plant and animal community, to replant native species, and to enable the native populations to reestablish themselves.
We have put together an amazing team – we’re working with Coldwater Consulting LLC as Project Managers, and with MAD Scientist Associates, LLC as our environmental subcontractor to do the restoration work, invasive plant removal, and native plant reestablishment.
We’ll be getting started with the restoration work in September and will need to close access to trails at periods throughout the process – so please bear with us!
If you would like more details, feel free to reach out to us by clicking on Contact Us from the top navigation above. We’re looking forward to seeing all of the changes at Calamus and will do our best to keep you updated along the way.
