Earth Day Work Day at Green Lawn

Scouts planting Spicebush at the Green Lawn Pond

Join Columbus Audubon in a work day for Earth Day at Green Lawn Cemetery on April 14 from 9:00 am to noon! The main effort will focus on an ongoing project in the ravine at Green Lawn which involves clearing honeysuckle and planting back native shrubs and wildflowers.

Columbus Audubon’s mission is to promote the appreciation, understanding and conservation of birds, other wildlife and their habitats for present and future generations. Green Lawn Cemetery is one of the oldest and largest cemeteries in Ohio and it represents habitat that is part of our very own Important Bird Area right in the heart of Columbus!

Please come prepared to work with sturdy shoes and work gloves as well as plenty of water and sunscreen. Additionally, we are in need of a few pairs of loppers to help with this project if you are willing to bring your own.

We are looking forward to a great day working on our wildlife habitat at Green Lawn. Hope you can join us! To register online, click here.
