Lake Erie Shores and Marshes
Join Tyler McClain at the “Warbler Capital of the World” for a day of north coast birding! We will start at Magee Marsh Wildlife Area, walking the famous boardwalk in search of warblers, migrant sparrows, vireos, flycatchers, Common Nighthawks, and more. After birding the causeway on the way out, we will visit parts of Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge from Krauss Rd, Metzger Marsh, and the newly opened Howard Marsh. The second part of the day will be spent looking for waterfowl, shorebirds, and grassland birds in addition to any warblers we may have missed in the morning. Our exact schedule will be determined that day by birds in the area.
Please RSVP for this trip by emailing Anna Wittmer.
While we will not carpool up with the trip guide, Anna will help arrange carpooling for those interested. Please note in your RSVP email whether you would be available to drive, and how many extra seats you have, or if you would prefer to ride. Rides are not guaranteed. If you do carpool, please be sure to offer to pay the driver for a share of the cost.
We will meet in the parking lot of the Magee Marsh Boardwalk at 9:00 am.
