Showing that bipartisan legislation still can pass occasionally, the Great American Outdoors Act was passed and was signed into law on August 4. Groups from the US Chamber of Commerce to the Pew Charitable Trust applauded the legislation, which was strongly advocated by Audubon.

The bill provides permanent funding for the Land and Water Conservation Fund, and adds funding for deferred maintenance on public lands. You can read details on the Audubon website.
