Lawn Laziness: Good for Birds

Oh no, winter has arrived (maybe) and you haven’t raked all the leaves and cleaned up your yard!

Well, if you are one of many, many lawn procrastinators, take heart. A messy winter lawn is good for birds. Seeds and leaves provide food for birds. And a brush pile is great cold-weather shelter, especially between trips to your bird feeders. So lighten up and relax, or go do some other chores around the house.
