Here’s some good news for birds — and people. There’s a simple way to decrease the number of birds killed when they collide with broadcast towers. Just turn off the steady lights. It’s good for people, too, because turning off those lights saves energy and so lowers costs. And it’s safe for airplanes because the flashing lights stay on.
