Dr Walter Carson

Please join us online at 6:30 pm on Tuesday, February 22 as we welcome Dr Walter Carson, Associate Professor at the University of Pittsburgh, for an explanation of Our Biodiversity Crisis.

Lots of people have opinions about the current state of biodiversity, but Dr Walter Carson has facts. His lab focuses on experimental and empirical tests of theory in community ecology, specifically theories that hone in on the mechanisms generating community composition, coexistence, complexity, and the maintenance of species diversity .

This program is free and open to the public, but you must register in advance.

Dr. Carson received his PhD in 1993 with Richard Root at Cornell University, performed his postdoctoral studies with David Tilman at the University of Minnesota and Steve Hubbell at Princeton University, and joined the Department in 1994.
