Our friends at the Arc of Appalachia land trust are raising funds to protect Fern Valley, in the Hocking Hills. This 80-acre parcel is the upper watershed for Clear Creek and is surrounded on three sides by Clear Creek Metro Park. It’s a haven for central and southern Ohio birds, such as Worm-eating, Yellow-throated, and Cerulean Warblers. You can see loads of information about Fern Valley and the campaign to protect it at the Arc of Appalachia Web site.
They have until June 20 to raise the needed funds, and as of June 1 they are over half way there. If you would like to help, hop over to the Arc of Appalachia Fern Gully Web site.
