Laura Kearns, Wildlife Research Biologist, ODNR. The Ohio Department of Natural Resources has been providing the state endangered Common Tern with artificial nesting platforms at two locations along the western Lake Erie Basin since the 90s, largely with great success. Issues with predators have required moving the locations of the colonies twice, once in 2007 and once in 2015/2016. Laura will discuss the challenges and successes with this project, and the new directions they are heading with the project.
This Columbus Audubon program is free and open to the public. Programs are held at the Grange Insurance Audubon Center (505 West Whittier Street in the Scioto-Audubon Metro Park on the Whittier Peninsula).
