Woody vegetation management with fire
The preserve, accessed by permit only, contains an alkaline fen and features a high-quality prairie fen community. A mile-long boardwalk runs across the fen meadow. During this work trip, we will be leveling the sunken parts of the boardwalk and replacing some decayed boards with new ones.
Everybody is welcome. Bring your lunch, water, and work gloves and dress for the weather. Tools will be provided. Â
