Woody vegetation management with fire
The landscape of this preserve always inspires curiosity – it features eskers, kames and kettles, and tells us the story of ancient glaciers, meltwater channels cut through the ice, and landforms influenced by retreating ice sheets. We will return to this preserve for everyone’s favorite activity – the burning of wood piles collected over the year from clearing invasive and weed trees.
Join us for a winter workday in the fresh air warmed by fire. Bring your lunch, water, and work gloves and dress for the weather. Tools will be provided. Transportation will be available for people traveling from Columbus. Please use the form below for questions or to register. Further information will be sent to the registered volunteers.
