Stephen Bischoff

Like several other members of the Ohio Young Birders Club, Stephen Bischoff has participated in a series of OYBC service projects. But Stephen has gone above and beyond in this regard, joining a number of Columbus Audubon’s Service in the Preserves work trips to help maintain and improve habitat in Ohio’s natural areas and preserves, including Clifton Gorge, Springville Marsh, Prairie Road Fen and Shoemaker State Nature preserves. Stephen also has helped raise funds for the Columbus Audubon Birdathon as part of the Early Birders OYBC Birdathon team.

Stephen has really shown his chops as a developing researcher. He has presented reports of his work on the Daily Development of Tree Swallows (TRES) and Eastern Bluebirds (EABL) Using Photography and Weight Measurements at the Ohio Avian Research Council at Denison University in October, 2013; the OYBC Annual Conference in November, 2013; the Ohio Bluebird Society Annual Conference in February, 2014; and even at a Columbus Metro Parks bluebird training event in March, 2014.

Stephen also has volunteered extensively at several of our partner organizations, including The Adaptive Adventure Sports Coalition and the Ohio Wildlife Center. We see a bright future for him in terms of his education, as he has completed additional environmental science credit courses and was a student in the Columbus Audubon Ornithology 101 course taught by Dr Angelika Nelson in early 2014.
