The New York Times ercently published an article about Florence Merriam Bailey as part of it’s “Overlooked No More” series. Bailey, who lived from 1863 – 1941, was a pioneer not only in the sport of modern birding, but also a tremendous influence in the same bird conservation effort that led to the formation of the Audubon Society.

It’s a fascinating read: check it out on the NY Times web site.
